Adminstrator to Pyschologist - Part time 10 hrs


Job Description for Administrator to Psychologist
Overall purpose of the post
To provide comprehensive administrative support to a visually impaired female psychologist. Developing and maintaining efficient administrative systems for paper and computerised resources. To arrange meetings, book appointments, respond to telephone enquiries and to undertake various small projects as required,and to provide general ad hoc support.
Management and monitoring
* To manage, monitor and control the administration of the waiting list.
* To monitor clinical activity and psychometric test data.
Systems
* To liaise with the internet service provider and the network administrator in order to resolve any IT problems.
* To maintain Outlook account and personal diary system.
* To operate and maintain client caseload records for Psychological Services clinics attended at The Village Surgery, West Barnes Surgery, Churchill Surgery, Central Surgery and Acre Road Clinic.
* To prepare clinical notes.
* To assist in the preparation of client assessments, reports and correspondence.
* To arrange client appointments.
* To administer a diary system
* To communicate with surgeries, clients and agencies
General
* To carry out other duties as is consistent with the nature and grading of the post.
* To abide by and promote Trust policy and procedure portfolio.
* To always work in the best interests of Access to Work.

Person Specification
Experience
1. A minimum of one year's experience of working in a busy and demanding office environment, either in a paid or voluntary capacity
2. Able to respond to a variety of telephone and personal enquiries
3. Able to communicate with people in distress (desirable)
Skills
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
2. Excellent command of written and spoken English
3. Ability to think numerically and prepare data
4. A working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
5. A working knowledge of the internet and email
6. Ability to set up and maintain record systems, including computer databases
7. Ability to prioritise workload for self and others
8. Ability to type at 50 pm
Knowledge
1. An interest in mental health issues and a respect for the views and experiences of service users
2. Understanding and commitment to equal opportunities
Personal
1. Ability to work as part of a team, with a professional and flexible attitude
2. Clear and imaginative ideas of how administrative systems and services can be improved and implemented
3. Sufficiently healthy and physically able to carry out the duties in the job description
Hours and days: 10 hours per week
Friday from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm (including 30 minutes for lunch on Fridays) in Kingston. Plus agreed hours on another day could be worked in SE18
Rate of pay GBP9.00 per hour
Work Permit: Must have a valid work permit or national insurance number.
Car Driver: Preferred.
