About us
Vista has invested in excess of ₤2m in developing a state-of-the-art MRI Imaging and Reporting centre in the heart of London. The centre opened at the end of October 2006 and provides accessible MRI facilities for up to 16 hours per day, 7 days per week to patients across the South-East. The centre, based in Waterloo, is the first of a planned roll-out of centres across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to join a young, vibrant team and to part of an organisation that will revolutionise patient's access to MRI scans and reports.
Whilst the centre is open from 7am-10pm you will work a 40 hour, 5 day, weekday week covering from 8am-8pm.
The role
We receive MRI Diagnostic referrals from a number of sources - for example NHS & Private GPs, Hospital Consultants and Allied Health professionals. The role of Senior Patient Co-Ordinator entails managing a team of 3 patient co-ordinators on a daily basis. You will be responsible for managing your own co-ordination work load and for ensuring that all tasks allocated to the team are completed in a timely manner to the required standard. The role of Patient Co-Ordinator involves dealing with a number of external customers - predominantly over the telephone. They receive MRI referrals from a number of different referring doctors and clinicians, and are responsible for tracking and administering the referral throughout the patient journey. This typically involves registering the patient on the practice database, scanning the referral documents and producing correspondence. they are also responsible for contacting the patient by phone, going through a safety briefing, telling them about the experience they can expect whilst here at the centre and advising them on appointment times etc, creating and despatching a clinical report once the patient has been here to the centre for their scan. The person
We are looking for an experienced senior administrator / co-ordinator ideally a graduate with experience of working in a Diagnostic Imaging environment. However, any experience of working in the direct healthcare / medical / NHS / GP market would be considered as the role requires an understanding of basic anatomy, though training will be provided for the right person. You will have at least 2 years experience of managing a small team and will be able to demonstrate an ability to remain calm whilst under pressure. You will be educated, IT literate be proficient with MS Office, particularly Word, email & internet and have good organizational and secretarial skills. However, it is paramount that you have excellent communication skills, have an ability to treat individuals sensitively & with compassion and empathy. Ensuring that our customers feel that they are the most important people in the world at that time & place is what makes you tick. You will be used to working in a fast paced environment, will have excellent multi-tasking skills as the role requires both re-active and pro-active thinking. The role can be extremely demanding and requires someone that can remain calm in the face of adversity !
