Do you want to cook without a deep fat fryer, a bank of microwaves, or a grumpy head chef with a series of personality disorders ? Then why not escape to the West Coast of Scotland? To a small family run hotel on the Island of Iona: organically inspired, with an absolute commitment to the home baked, home made, home grown, and Fairly Traded.
We have a live in vacancy for a cook who has passion for authentic home made cuisine and working in a convivial and encouraging environment. Rather than long term (perhaps slightly embittered) experience, we are looking for someone with natural flair, who gets pleasure from their work, and will enjoy cooking with the produce of our own organic garden.
We have a busy restaurant, superb ingredients, a great kitchen team, and we enjoy serving the best the West Coast can produce. You will be in a rota of 5 chefs, working a 40 hr week with paid overtime and holidays.
The Isle of Iona is a small but seasonally busy island some 6 hours North West of Glasgow. Set in dramatic and picturesque scenery, the island is remote but has good transport links to the mainland and an entertaining social life.
