Medical Underwriter
We are seeking a Medical Underwriter to work within our clients Employee Benefits division for this leading insurance company in East Sussex. You must be able to medically underwrite cases up to at least £250,000.
Working within a team of 8, you will be responsible for underwriting life, income protection and critical illness policies for both new and existing business as well as have responsibility for a caseload of between 100 to 150 cases per week.
Candidates must initially determine and assess the medical underwriting requirements for Life, Income Protection and Critical Illness applications, for both individual policies and Group schemes, based on any disclosures and/or our non medical limits. You will provide relevant and accurate medical underwriting in a timely manner with minimal errors.
It is essential you have a proven track record with solid experience in medical underwriting from either a Life Insurance, Reinsurer or Broker backgrounds. First class communication skills both verbal and written a must, you will also be numerical and good with figures.
Educated to GCSE calibre or equivalent at grade C or above in Maths and English essential and ideally FPC qualified or equivalent, desirable but not essential.
Salary: £25000 - £30000 per annum + excellent benefits
