Learning Support Teacher - Speech & Language

We are looking for a Learning Support teacher to work in a secondary school in the North West of London with a Speech, Language and Communication focus.

Ideally you will be experienced, but if you have just qualified with specialist training then the school would also welcome your application.

The role includes, but is not limited to:

1. To teach and support children with a wide range of Special Educational Needs in the Speech, Language and Communication Resourced Base.

2. To be a key worker for named high need students in the Speech, Language and Communication Resourced Base.

3. Direct teaching of literacy and numeracy to individuals and small groups of students, including those with Specific Learning Difficulties and Language and Communication Difficulties.

4. To support and team teach Social Skills groups for students with Social and Communication difficulties and students who have Asperger's Syndrome.

5. To take part in team teaching and classroom support across the curriculum.

6. To carry out formal and informal assessments of students.

7. To monitor and evaluate the progress of students and to provide the necessary reports.

8. To collaborate with colleagues, parents and guardians as well as students to produce Individual education plans for students.

You must have a teaching qualification and be able to provide references from your last 5 years of employment. You will need to have a current CRB disclosure for the UK or be willing to obtain one and have a legal right to work in the UK.
