Product Control

Responsibilities:
- New structured STG transactions, ensuring that trades are subjected to appropriate diligence.
- Once sufficient experience is gained, for new structured STG transactions, ensuring that trades are appropriately implemented and provide ongoing support for their trades.
- Ensuring trades are accounted for correctly under US GAAP and IFRS seeking guidance where required from management, financial accounting and from the group accounting policy team;
- Ensuring trades are valued correctly, including reviewing FO modelling and liaising with Structuring, Trading and our Global Modelling group as appropriate;
- Liaising with FO and MO to ensure system bookings are devised and executed appropriately.
- Providing explanations for the P&L and balance sheet movements on the ledgers for their projects each month end;
- Analysis of FX positions and FX PL, provision of sundry reports to trading and management
- Completing structured trade reviews for each new deal and transaction event.
- Assist in systems improvement projects to improve our processes and ability to book these highly structured trades.
- Building a good network across the variety of departments involved in these transactions to enable problems to be quickly and effectively resolved and to ensure the wider bank team works as efficiently as possible;
The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant with Investment Banking experience either through hands-on line experience or relevant audit work. Ideally they will have had line experience in a Product Control role, and must have excellent communication skills.
