Fixed Income and Loan Hedge Fund Operations
The Company
An opportunity exists for the right person to join the Operations team in the London office of a Hedge Fund and play an important role in the development of the business from an operational perspective. This is a dynamic role that covers the Fixed Income and Loan markets.
The Role
Duties Sending Bond trade instructions to custodians Liaising with counterparties and custodians to resolve failing and unmatched trades Dealing with any queries from custodians and counterparties Working on cash management and reconciliations Assisting in the management of static data Corporate actions responding to various custodians with our decision Dealing with interest and coupon claims Uploading bond prices into Bloomberg on a daily basis Acting as loan closer for settlement of any loans purchased by the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) Arranging the drawdown from our SPV provider to fund the purchase of loans and circulating this to all relevant parties Acting as cover to authorise trades on Bloomberg Working on various projects which help to make settlements more efficient As in all small companies the candidate should be comfortable performing an equal share of office administration as well as other ad-hoc tasks necessary to ensure the smooth running of the company Whilst the day-to-day role would mostly focus on operational and settlement issues evolving around corporate bond and loan positions, we are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual who would enjoy working in a small office environment and take advantage of the breadth of experience such an environment offers. Depending on the level of experience, the role is likely to expand into helping in accounting, compliance and ad-hoc marketing support. The Candidate Self motivated and to be able to manage their own responsibilities without fulltime supervision Intelligent, organised, good attention to detail and able to work to deadlines Comfortable working in small team Well presented and an excellent communicator Must not allow their thinking to be constrained by existing processes Willing learner Education and Career Experience Bachelors degree or other relevant professional qualification preferable, however not a pre-requisite At least 1 year of relevant operational experience (settlements) gained from an investment bank or asset manager / hedge fund Sound knowledge of corporate actions / coupons IT literacy / Language skills will also be highly regarded
