Derivative Administrator
The Company
Robert Half Financial Services Group are looking for a Derivative Administrator. Main duties are to ensure that all allocated work and all incoming issues are dealt with, without risk to the company, in an efficient manner and to the satisfaction of both internal and external clients. Responsibilities:
The Role
Duties Risk Management including procedures, control and compliance. Understand and comply with all requirements of regulatory regimes and corporate policies and procedures. Track, report and resolve errors and exceptions following in house risk control procedures Effectively prioritise using market knowledge and understanding of client base Operations Process Improvement. Research, recommend and implement process improvements where appropriate e.g. following market practice developments, errors or in the case of inefficient or volum sensitive processes. Internal and external clients . Provide a professional service to all internal and external clients, and constructive input to work ongoing in other areas. Derivative administration process. Confirm trades with counterparties. Ensure all information is recorded onto Quasar within agreed timeframes and in accordance with existing procedures. Daily margin and exposure reconciliation. Agree and arrange for margin calls/recalls. Open new accounts with clearer. Update procedures as and when required. Review of new instruments on behalf of Investment Operations. Assist with the co-ordination, planning and control of all derivative clearer review meetings. During quiet periods the administrator will provide cover / assist the Settlements team with the following tasks. Failed and unmatched trades. Effectively record and resolve all settlement related queries. Placing and Underwriting administration. The completion of all placing and underwriting paperwork, broker confirmations, Quasar processing, Custodian instructions and commission postings. Technical Skills, Knowledge, Systems Knowledge Knowledge of derivative instruments and processes. Strong technical skills, preferably across a wide range of markets and instrument types, coupled with a good understanding of other operational areas e.g. Settlements and Corporate Actions. Awareness and recognition of different client types and their associated requirements. Proficiency on Windows based software, including Word and Excel Ability to effectively utilize in-house and vendor software A methodical and logical approach, together with excellent prioritisation and organisational skills. Good problem solving skills. Understand how to undertake independent research and gather available information in order to approach issues logically. Good communication skills Excellent product knowledge, preferably across a wide range of markets and instrument types.
Salary & Benefits
£35,000 - £42,000
