Telecomm Voice Engineer/Manager


Excellent full time opportunity with a large financial services firm!

The Voice Engineering Manager is responsible for planning, designing and maintaining the Voice infrastructure. They will also be responsible for developing strategic new Voice services and business-enhancing tools. Recommends technology changes and prepares proposals/projects for business enhancement and/or cost saving. Develops ongoing strategy for Voice technologies and their business/system integration equipment vendors and network carriers as necessary. Will manage and build vendor partnerships for new vendor/product developments, measuring their performance objectives.

Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of, and experience with, Trading Floor Voice systems, i.e. trading turrets, voice recorders, hoot holler, private lines, etc.
Strong knowledge of, and experience with, PBX systems (specifically Avaya/Nortel), voice mail, intercom, wireless and remote voice systems
Advanced knowledge in the functionality of unified messaging, ACD/IVR, CTI and Voice Telephony over IP.
Fully understand various standards for telecommunications and system inter-working, i.e. ISDN, ATM, Q.Sig, TAPI, LDAP, SNMP, etc.
Fully understand local and long distance PSTN access and transport technology (DS0 to OCX facilities).
Understand Banking, Brokerage and Financial Services industry operations and means of conducting business via phone.
Extremely strong in project management, problem solving and business case development
Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Power Point, Project and Visio.
